Designing a Coffee Bar or Butler's Pantry

Few upgrades earn their keep like a coffee bar or butler's pantry. They pull clutter and traffic out of the main kitchen and turn a daily ritual into something special.
The coffee bar
A dedicated spot for the machine, mugs, beans and accessories — ideally with an outlet or two, open shelving for display, and a little counter to work on. It keeps the morning rush out of the main prep zone.
The butler's pantry
A hardworking transition between kitchen and dining room: extra counter for staging, storage for serveware and small appliances, and often a second sink or beverage fridge. It's the secret to entertaining without a mess in the main kitchen.
